BUILDING TEAMS AND RELATIONSHIPS FOR EDUCATION - STAFF AND STUDENTS

Our team building events are designed for both staff and students.

For students, the provision of a team building event near the start of a course really help to get the course off to a flying start and has innumerable benefits. The same goes for students undertaking part or full time management courses, where a residential can not only help build relationships between the students and students and staff, but can also provide some important course content in terms of:

• Practical team building
  
• Leadership
  
• Task management
  

For Staff, morale can be a key issue, and team and relationship building events can provide an opportunity away from work for mangement to clarify their objectives with staff, and to enjoy a strong, shared experience which will have a lasting effect.

WE OFFER:

•  SINGLE DAY TEAM BUILDING
• Based in the Lake District or Peak District, a one day outdoor event combining outdoor activities and problem solving, with a huge range of activities and locations to choose from. We allow some time for reviewing following activities, so there is an element of learning alongside providing opportunities for everyone to work alongside each other. 
• No residential costs, great fun and with a learning element - designed in consultation with your staff, suitable for staff and students.
•  MULTI DAY RESIDENTIAL TEAM BUILDING EVENT
• Once again based in the Peak District or Lake District, we offer multi-day residential team building events from periods of 2 days (1 night) upwards. These events fulfil two distinct purposes. Firstly, they enable course members to get to know each other much better - the course really comes together. Secondly, the event provides the students with some extremely useful practical experiences and skills relating to managing tasks, leadership and working in teams. These skills are vital to their futures, and are relevant to students on all types of courses.They are particularly related to students undertaking management based courses.

Lakes Challenge have provided residential team building events for a range of colleges and universities including Loughborough University, South Cheshire College, Manchester Metropolitan University, West Cheshire College.

A NOTE ON USING THE GREAT OUTDOORS
Using the outdoors for team and relationship building does not mean it's an outward bound course, full of physical hardship and discomfort. (Though it can be if that's what you want!!) We use the outdoors to provide:

•  An alternative environment
•  A healthy environment promoting a feeling of wellbeing
•  An environment in which hierarchical considerations are less relevant

 Many of our activities are creative and require problem solving and other soft skills to go alongside any physical effort required.

The outdoor environment is for everyone, and Lakes Challenge events are inclusive, run by professionals and carefully judged to match your team.
