TEAM BUILDING & RELATIONSHIP BUILDING FOR THE OUTDOOR INDUSTRY

Good interpersonal relationships coupled with the formation of strong teams creates a strong foundation for success in business and on projects. Teams may include external organisations involved for example in a supply chain or essential services provision.

There are two key areas to building teams:

•  Building relationships and establishing teams where the team make-up is already decided.
  
•  Learning how to create, develop and sustain a new team.
  

Team Building events provide opportunities for:

- Team members to get to know each other better, and to start to understand each others strengths and weaknesses.
- Everyone to see each other working under a bit of pressure
- Reviewing activities and performance
- Understanding the key factors in producing successful teams
- Becoming more relaxed in each other's company
- Deciding how to maintain team cohesion in the future
- Developing effective task management skills
- Developing decision making skills
- Having fun and enjoying some down time

Relationship Building Events provide a strong, shared experience away from the workplace:

- Allowing participants to choose challenges and activities at an appropriate level to suit them
- Providing time for people to build relationships in an informal setting away from the workplace
- Providing opportunities for people to understand each other's personal strengths and weaknesses
- Providing the right environment to foster harmonious and productive relationships

A NOTE ON USING THE GREAT OUTDOORS
Using the outdoors for team and relationship building does not mean it's an outward bound course, full of physical hardship and discomfort. (Though it can be if that's what you want!!) We use the outdoors to provide:

•  An alternative, away from the workplace environment
•  A healthy environment promoting a feeling of well-being
•  An environment in which hierarchical considerations are less relevant

 Many of our activities are creative and require problem solving and other soft skills to go alongside any physical effort required.

The outdoor environment is for everyone, and Lakes Challenge activities are inclusive, run by dedicated professionals and carefully judged to match your team.
