INTRODUCTION: Lakes Challenge provide team building and relationship building events, leadership training, management training training and other events for business, education and government.

The common theme running through all our events is that they use the outdoor enironment in some way. (see article by John White on Management Training using the Outdoors)

THE GREAT OUTDOORS: The great outdoors provides an exciting learning environment, and when used correctly in conjunction with more conventional classroom learning, it produces a very positive learning experience. Using the outdoors does not necessarily mean using wild places a long way from your workplace - the countyside on your doorstep can be just as good.

Lakes Challenge use the outdoor environment in a very different way to the conventional concept of rough and tough outdoor pursuits. We use creative events such as photography and film making and use the outdoors to help people understand the bigger issues such as sustainability and climate change. Our use of the outdoors is very inclusive, with events organised to allow participation by everyone.

We do continue to use more traditional outdoor activities such as abseiling and climbing where appropriate. They can help increase self-confidence, and provide individuals with a fresh outlook on what is possible. What sets us apart is our ability, through careful choices of location and tutors, to challenge everyone at an appropriate individual level.

HEALTH AND WELL-BEING: Using the great outdoors also has health and well-being advantages, so your workforce can potentially become fitter and healthier as well as more productive.

LOCATIONS: Though we are based in the beautiful Lake District, and you may choose this location due to the stunning quality of the landscape, the great hotels and the fact that it is 'away from it all', we use many other locations throughout Britain and abroad, and we are more than happy to run training events anywhere.

DESIGN AND COST: Every event Lakes Challenge run is bespoke, and carefully designed to meet your organisational needs as closely as possible. Designing bespoke events does not however mean high costs. We aim to provide exceptional value for money - and can offer events at prices which are attractive in the current economic climate.
