ROCK CLIMBING IN THE LAKE DISTRICT
The Lake District is recognised as the birthplace of British rock climbing and it's a great place to enjoy rock climbing for groups.
Climbing sessions are carried out on crags which offer a wide range of challenges - there really is something for everyone to succeed on, and our instructors are the very best when it comes to providing help, advice and encouragement.
We encourage everyone to take part in safeguarding each other - known as belaying - great for building trust and relationships, all under the watchful eye of the finest instructors in the country. You'll learn the terminology and some climbing techniques, and you'll certainly enjoy the spectacular location and views.
Our climbing sessions are suitable for all ability levels, you don't need any previous experience and we provide all the specialist equipment - even high friction climbing shoes.
Rock climbing sessions are run in conjunction with Highpoint, and available in the Lake District and on request in other parts of the country such as the Peak District, Yorkshire and North Wales.
If you want to undertake a rock climbing course over a weekend or longer period we can arrange that too - groups should contact Lakes Challenge whilst individuals should contact Highpoint directly.
