The Lake District or 'The Lakes' as it is known to many - self-styled 'Adventure Capital' - is a great location for outdoor activities. It's a magnificent National Park where Lakes Challenge is based and for a good reason.
The mountains, valleys and lakes of the Lake District provide so many great places for outdoor activities such as rock climbing, abseiling, mountain biking, canoeing, gorge scrambling and much more. The scenery is spectacular and visitors have enjoyed the classic views for scores of years.
As befits a major tourist area, the infrastructure is pretty good as well, offering a huge range of accommodation choice, railway access via Windermere and Penrith and links through to all the major towns. The Langdale Valley is just 35 minutes from the M6 and you can be gazing over Ullswater just 10 minutes after leaving Junction 40.
The Lake District is of international significance and is currently seeking status as a World Heritage Site. All this, plus some wonderful forests and varied wildlife makes the Lake District top of the list if you're looking for a place to get stuck into some classic outdoor activities.
A full range of the activities we provide for groups in the Lake District can be found under the Group Adventures menu.
