Mountain Navigation is a great way of combining some excercise in the form of a delightful mountain walk, with learning a new skill.

Learning to read a map well is akin to learning a new language, and we have developed a wide range of strategies over the years to help.

Good map reading ability is a real asset, whether it's on the road or taking friends or family for a walk in the coiuntryside, and after this course you'll really know your stuff.
You'll have the opportunity for lots of hands-on experience in a very beautiful, but straightforward mountain walking area. The exact location will depend on the group and on the weather on the day.

We will use some modern technology as well - Memory Map software and GPS, to show you how the latest technology has made using maps easier and more interesting.

The Lake District has some excellent locations for learning to map read such as Langdale and Patterdale. All in all, this is an excellent group activity in which you'll learn something really useful.
