SURVIVAL CHALLENGE PDF Print E-mail
A survival challenge makes a great day for a group activity, and consists of a number of different challenges built into the day. This challenge works really well in groups of 4-6, who can compete against each other in each part of the event as well as in the final head to head challenge.

Our Survival Challenge normally takes place in the extensive parkland and woodland of Dalemain House, on the edge of the Lake District near Penrith. This is a really excellent location where we have the woodland to ourselves (apart from the pheasants and other wildlife), and the fells of the Ullswater area form a wonderful backdrop.
The challenge itself consists of a number of separate challenges which could include:
- Shelter Build
- Fire and cooking
- Hunting skills
- Make a bow and arrows
- Fishing
- Orienteering
- Improvised rescue

When a number of teams are taking part, each activity is scored, and a final challenge takes place where some of the skills and tools already learned and constructed have to be used in a showdown against the other teams.

You'll get dirty, have some fun and learn some skills you hope you'll never have to use!
