 | Our challenging walks are designed to be just that -
challenging, but achievable, tailored to your group and led by expert walking guides.
There are many factors which contribute to the difficulty of a
walk - the distance covered, height gain, weather conditions
and underfoot terrain for example. | On many mountain walks the distance covered is not really a true measure of a walk's difficulty, so our grading takes into account all the factors mentioned above as well as the fitness and ability of the group. |  |  | The routes we take on our walks are also chosen very carefully to make sure your group has a really special day. For example, through routes rather than circular walks give a greater variety of scenery. We may also take you off the beaten track onto routes known only to local shepherds and guides, where you can get away from the crowds and enjoy real tranquility. | To some extent walks are only as good as the guides who are with you, and to that end we have some really first-class walking guides who are safe and professional, and who know the lake District very well. They will not only look after your group, but will be able to keep them entertained and interested throughout the guided walk. |  | | | |
